Early Summer Favorites

This post was originally going to be a roundup of my monthly favorites from May, but it just didn’t feel right posting it last week.

May Favorites | Dancing for Donuts

While it’s now almost mid-June (excuse me but WHAT. HOW?!), I still wanted to share some of my current favorites 🙂

Much like everyone else, we’ve adjusted a bit to life in the q (although things are slowly starting to open up here in LA!). That means our cooking has looked different and there’s been a lot more of it, which has been fun! And a LOT of snacking. Clothes look different too (even more athleisure and comfy stuff than before!), as do workouts, dates, and everything else. So here’s what I’ve been loving lately!

Monkey Bars – You guys know me, I am a snack ~fiend~ and sometimes I keep low expectations since there are so many out there, but these bars legit blew me away. You can’t beat the ingredients (just the three on the label), but the texture and taste are amazing, too. Ovi wanted one!

The Joya Life Coconut Milk Dark Chocolate – If I had to pick one thing to have for dessert everyday forever, these chocolate bars might just be it. They’re high quality (everything from this women-owned brand is!), insanely creamy, and low in sugar. I’m pretty sure a whole bar is ~150 calories but it feels so much more decadent than that!

County Line Harvest CSA Box – The best purchase we’ve made in quarantine hands down has to be our weekly CSA box. For $25 we get the biggest haul of veggies EVER and it’s so fun because it’s different week to week. It’s helped us eat more veggies in a cost-effective way, not to mention more creative in the kitchen!

Meatless Farm Co. Plant-based Sausage – Okay Alex and I were both blown away by the taste of these!! I’ve been trying to shift us towards more plant-based options and these will definitely be on repeat over here. I put mine on top of a gluten free Everything Biscuit with havarti, lettuce, tomato, and mustard!

Uphoric Urth Relief Turkey Tail Tincture – I’ve been super into the power of medicinal mushrooms (like Reishi, Turkey Tail and Cordyceps) lately, and I’ve been dropping a bit of this tincture into my hot tea almost every night for weeks now. Usually products like these have such a strong earthy taste that I can’t handle, but these have absolutely none! The code JORDAN gets you 25% off on their website.

Fancy Face Co Mask – My friend’s mom started an Etsy store where cotton, washable masks with a double filter are only $10 and she has all kind of cute prints! We’re going to be wearing masks for awhile, we might as well turn them into accessories 🙂

Aerie Biker Shorts – If there’s one thing I’ve been wearing on the daily in quarantine it’s biker shorts (pictured at the top of this post! I’d actually mentioned the Aerie ones in a previous favorites post last year, but they’re back and better than ever. I’m obsessed with the more athletic ones (not see through, super soft and comfy!) and also these which are unbelievably soft and cozy, but better suited for lounging/everyday wear.

Bloomscape House Plants – I got a Philodendron Brasil and a Silver Pothos and I’m obsessed with them! They make me so happy and they came in these super sleek pots. They’re not too expensive either!

Pipcorn Snacks – I just discovered this brand last week when searched for Black-owned businesses to support and I am officially HOOKED. Good thing I bought 8 bags on Amazon because Alex and I have been housing them. We’ve tried three different flavors now, and all are fantastic!

And that’s a wrap! What’s one thing you’ve been obsessed with lately?
