Fall Favorites

You guys I can’t even remember the last time I did a monthly favorites roundup🙈

But we are back in business today, y’all! I’ve actually had a hard time narrowing everything down since I’ve tried and loved so many things in the last few months. From food and drinks to skincare and clothing, there’s SO much out there…I think I may actually just do a separate green beauty post!

Anyway, here are some things I’ve really, truly been loving and enjoying (not including the turtleneck I’m wearing above, aka my actual favorite thing about fall)…😂

Cover Girl Active Python Leggings – So admittedly I did a (very small) campaign with this company on Instagram and had NO idea I was going to fall so in love with their clothes!! I’m truly blown away that these leggings are just $48 in a world of extremely over-priced activewear. The quality is insane, they suck you in but have a thinner material, have the perfect high waist, and feel like a second skin. IN LOVE.

Snacklins – I tried these at the All Things Go Fall Classic back in October and then immediately went home and ordered them from Thrive Market. A whole bag (which is pretty big!) has only 80 calories but the flavor is amazing and they’re so few ingredients!! The perfect snack when you need to munch.

CAP Beauty Matcha and Coconut Butter – I’m going to be real with you, I’m not the biggest matcha snob, I kind of just take what I can get and as long as it’s got a bit of sweetness, I’m here for it…until now. CAP Beauty has raised the freakin’ bar, y’all👏🏻 You can totally taste the difference in quality and then the coconut butter elevates the whole thing to be a rich, delicious and creamy treat. I never want another matcha again!

Trader Joe’s Chocolate Hummus – I got my hands on this ONCE and they’ve been sold out ever since, but I think about it everyday and that is not an exaggeration😂 The nutrition facts on this stuff are pretty dang impressive and it is the closest thing I can find to chocolate frosting without actually being chocolate frosting.

Real Good Foods Cauliflower Bread Breakfast Sandwiches – I try not to have frozen food too often, mostly because I work from home and can make pretty much whatever I want, but sometimes mornings are HECTIC and it’s nice to have options!! I tried these breakfast sammies for the first time and hot damn are they good!! I can’t get over that the bread is paleo/gf/made with cauliflower and the inside with the sausage, egg and cheese was delish. They’re on the small side, but perfect for a quick breakfast or even snack!

Sun Basket – Okay for the first time EVER, I tried a meal prep kit service and it was good. I admit, I haven’t been the most innovative in the kitchen in quite awhile, so it was really cool having someone else come up with the meals! Everything you need (save for oil/salt/pepper) is right in the bag and it’s all super high quality ingredients (organic when possible!). We tried three meals and loved them all!

Buff Bake Protein Cookies – I’m not gonna lie to you, I have had a LOT of protein “cookies” in my day and 90% of the time they’re not foolin’ me with that cookie business. This is the other 10% though because WOW. I tried the Birthday Cake flavor and the Sweet & Salty flavor and both were phenomenal. They’re filled with just a touch of nut butter and are so yummy. There are 4 mini cookies to a pack!

Friday Finds

Oh hey, y’all! This is apparently my first post of October…oof🙈

I totally dropped the ball on my blog – the past few weeks have been filled with transitions, work, events, catching up with friends, and self-care. Plus, if I’m being totally honest, I’ve been feeling slightly unmotivated, but I know that’s on it’s way out (thank goodness).

I’m actually on a plane to Washington D.C. right now – my boyfriend’s brother has his own music festival called All Things Go and the lineup this weekend is absolutely INSANE. My (potentially all time) favorite band is playing, LANY, and I might even get to meet them…plz pray for me that I don’t a) say anything weird b) start giggling uncontrollably c) pee just a little bit in my pants or d) all of the above😂

Oh! And I uploaded another YouTube video (really hoping to be more consistent over there) – it’s a vlog and it shows what a regular day in my life usually looks like! You can watch it here. Anyway, let’s get into the finds of the week!!

Paleo Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies – I made this “joke” on Instagram yesterday, but I swear I’m turning into a chocolate covered pumpkin…I just can’t get enough of those flavors together! And the texture in these looks PERFECT.

How Not to Care What People Think & Be Proud of Your Side Project – Because we should all be proud no matter what. Having a regular project AND a side project is hard work, but it’s fun and we do it because we love it. Do you have one? Tell me in the comments so I can check it out!!

Hay Friday! So happy to see you😍

I LOVE Fridays you guys. I know not everyone’s jobs are like this, but for me, most of my client work gets done by Thursday (not always, but usually) so Fridays I get to focus on blogging/recipe creation. It’s my happy time!

But before I really dive into my day, I just wanted to share some Friday Finds with you since it’s been a minute! Here’s what I’ve been reading lately:

Blueberry Maple Oat Cups – Soooo admittedly this is my recipe and I fully planned on doing an actual blog post for it, but time got the best of me and I ended up just sharing it on Instagram🙈 If you’re not an IG user, you can just screenshot the recipe on your phone – so sorry if that’s annoying!

How the Humble Banana Became the Latest Healthy Go-To Ingredient – It’s kind of funny because I didn’t actually notice this, but it’s so true!! Bananas are in everything now and I’m so here for it. They’re my favorite fruit!

Burrata with Heirloom Tomatoes and Peaches – Well I know what I’LL be making this weekend, what about you?

5-Minute Express Butt & Thighs Workout – You guys, Erica is my GIRL. I’ve known her for 7 years now and she’s not only an angel, but her workouts are killer and FUN. I love that this one is only 5 minutes, it’s perfect for a lazy day or finishing off some cardio!

Creamy Banana Bread Chia Seed Pudding – Yep, more bananas😂 This does sound pretty incredible, though. I’ve been loving chia seed pudding!

Currently… (& July Favorites)

A friend told me that July felt like it both FLEW by but also lasted 10 years…I think that’s pretty accurate.

Current Summer Favorites | Dancing for Donuts

I’m super ready for it to be August, partially because it’s my birthday month (helloooo 30!) and partially because I’m heading back to the east coast at the end of it!

I’ve been wanting to switch up the way I do my monthly favorites for a bit now (remember when I tried the video thing? Did anyone like that?), so we’re trying something new today. Here are some things that I’ve been eating/using/doing on repeat, so I guess you could just call them my favorites😂

CURRENT…

Breakfast on repeat… Green smoothies, yogurt bowls, and Alpen muesli – all day, everyday baby👏🏻 I’ve been adding in either Nuzest Protein (code DFD15 to save moolah), or LivWell Coconut Protein to my smoothies. Both are vegan! For the muesli, I just add almond milk and then top it with fruit/coconut.

Snack in my purse at all times… Naturally Clean Eats bars, Eat Like a Woman Chocolate Brownie bars, Fruit Bliss Bites, and Split packs. All pictured above!

Makeup routine… I honestly don’t wear much makeup these days since summer is so sweaty anyway, but if I do, I always use my Intelligent Elixirs Tinted Broad Spectrum SPF 30 (the coverage and finish are absolutely beautiful), Mineral Fusion Lengthening Mascara, and my Too Faced Natural Face Palette. I’ll finish it off with this gorgeous Tower 28 Lip Jelly!

Workouts… a steady mix of yoga at YogaWorks or Sweat Yoga, pilates at Pilates Platinum, Bünda, and steady-state cardio at home on the elliptical (while watching HGTV, duh).

Self-care routine… I’m thinking I might do a more in-depth blog post on this, but lately I’ve been keeping things simple – having a dance in the party in the shower with good music, a candle and using my favorite body lotion from Nécessaire afterwards (code JORDAN10 to save $$). I’ve also been watching a fair amount of TV, but also reading. I think both are okay😊

Show I’m binge-watching… The Bold Type (although I just caught up😥), Handmaid’s Tale, Stranger Things (well we already watched that one, but I honestly might watch it again), and Euphoria. UGH please watch Euphoria it’s unreal and I have the biggest girl crush on Zendaya.

Must-have home product… because #puppymom😂 Branch Basics sent me their incredible green cleaning products and they’ve been a godsend since Ovi licks everything and we’ve been cleaning our floors/doing a TON of laundry! They essentially have one multi-purpose cleaner concentrate that you mix with water – so convenient!

Song I’m overplaying… Still not over Beyoncé’s Homecoming album #sorrynotsorry, the new Lion King soundtrack and lots of country music, specifically Kelsea Ballerini! Country makes me think of summer, is that weird? Also I’m fully aware of how different those two artists are😂

Friday Finds (and a Life Update!)

Okay so this life update is a couple of weeks old and most of you probably already know by now, but…

I have a puppy!!!! And his name is Ovi and he’s the best boy ever😊 He’s almost 10 weeks old now and he’s a black bi Aussiedoodle!! He was actually the runt of the litter too, so hopefully he’ll be in the 27-32 pound range. I just need to be able to travel with him so I can take him home for holidays!

He’s seriously the sweetest, so smart and so full of life. He’s a snuggle bug and I love him so much. If you’re obsessed with dogs (like me), you can follow him on Instagram because I’m a crazy pup mom and made him his own😂 It’s @ovithefloof

Other than that, I’ve just been trying to get ahead on work since we go to Hawaii TOMORROW! We’re somewhat irresponsible dog parents leaving our baby so soon, but we didn’t know we were going to have him obviously. Thank goodness for sweet friends who are going to watch him while we’re away!

And now, onto Friday Finds before I head back out of town because this summer is non freakin’ stop…

Peach Caprese Salad with Toasted Garlic Naan – Well this sounds lovely😍 Peach caprese is one of my favorites in the summer time!

Good Morning Coffee Lover’s Smoothie – So many of my favorite flavors in here! I have a smoothie for breakfast almost every single day and this is a good way to get that caffeine fix without the extra mug🙌🏻

Señorita Ab Routine – Maddie is one of my favorite YouTubers and I LOVE her workouts! She’s being doing workouts set to songs, which is fun since they go right with the beat of the music and only last a few minutes😅

A Budget You Can Actually Stick To – THIS. I work on my budgeting almost every couple of weeks (just because the nature of my work is all over the place) and I love the way this article breaks it down in a tangible way!

Sustainable Cookware That’s Less Than $100 – I just learned last year how bad our pots and pans can be for us AND the environment. I’m actually due for new ones so I think I’ll pick from this list!

Happy Friday!!! This is actually a big one for me…

It’s my last Friday before I’m a dog mom and I’m SO EXCITED. It’s all I can think about🙈 And luckily I wrapped up my busiest work week for awhile just in time!

In other news, I wrapped up my 6 weeks at physical therapy for my back and truth be told, the pain isn’t better at all whatsoever. I’m going to have to see a spine specialist, so please pray for me that I don’t have to go to a chiropractor because nothing grosses me out more than cracking bones😂

Not gonna lie, this week felt like pretty much the longest week ever.

It was a great one, don’t get me wrong, but MAN am I tired😂 There are two things I want to share with you before diving into this week’s Friday Finds (…is this the second week in a row for one? I think so…oops).

I suppose that always happens after travel, though! This week has been super busy but also productive, and for those two things I’m grateful😊 It’s just been so gloomy here in LA and I’m ready for some sun! What’s the weather like where you live?

We do have some fun plans this weekend like going to a Dodgers game, plus I’m helping my friend Erica shoot fitness videos for her YouTube, so that should be awesome!! I’ve been so nostalgic for my dance days, so anything I can do to bring me back to that feeling is always nice.

I know I sort of had a short week because of Texas, but the truth about having your own business is that you don’t actually get to take days off… which means that for the days you SLACK off, you end up just having to catch up HARD afterwards😅

That being said, I know that being busy is a blessing, so I will stop complaining! Besides, I’m gearing up for a weekend of fun with friends and family, and I hope you are too, whether you’re celebrating Passover, Easter, or hey, just life in general!

18 Trader Joe’s Products Always in Our Freezers – Ugh, TJ’s for LIFE. I definitely haven’t tried some of these before so I know what I’ll be doing this afternoon…

Salted Citrus Bars – WHAT. EVEN. I actually used to not be a fan of citrus-y desserts but lately I’ve been all about lemon and orange flavored treats!

30 Minute Dance Workout with Aubre Winters – You guys Aubre is legit one of my favorite teachers in LA, PLUS she used to be a dancer. I’m low key freaking out that I can do one of her workouts at home now!

The Things You Should Invest in During Your 30’s – Maybe you’re in your 30’s (or almost like me!), maybe you’re not, but I still think advice like this is valuable! Plus Jacey is quite possibly the classiest woman alive, so that helps.

Here’s What You Need to Know About Arrowroot Powder – I admittedly bought a bag of this for gluten-free recipes but had no idea what it is…until now!😂

How to Make a Healthy Dressing to Put on All the Things – Well this sounds AMAZING.
