Happy Friday and Happy Juneteenth!

Friday Finds | Dancing for Donuts

I’ll admit, I didn’t know very much about this holiday until this year (I’m still trying to understand if we’re taught these things in grade school and then forget, or if we’re just not taught at all?), but I’m excited to spend the day recognizing and celebrating Black excellence!!

The past couple of weeks, I’ve continued to donate to organizations like the NAACP, Black Lives Matter, and The Loveland Foundation, watch films like Selma, 13th and Just Mercy, purchase from small black-owned businesses and listen to podcasts like 1619 and Pod Save the People. My books finally arrived too, so I’m excited to dive into those. We have to keep the momentum going!

And speaking of podcasts, a very shameless self plug since I was on another in the past couple of weeks – my friend Bailey’s podcast where we chat all things rejection, entrepreneurship and being a blogger. Okay enough about me, let’s get into this week’s link roundup!

10 Meaningful Ways to Commemorate Juneteenth – I’m SO glad we’re finally all talking about this holiday. I plan to purchase from a black-owned business today and take the evening to read some of the anti-racism books that finally arrived!

The Best Paleo Everything Bagel Bread – Somehow I’ve still never tried one of Rachel’s recipes, but this might be the first one I make.

10 Food Gifts from Black-Owned Companies – I’ve spent so much money on black-owned businesses the past couple of weeks and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon! haha WORTH IT.

The Best Thriller Books I’ve Ever Read – In case you need more books for summer like me!! I’ve read a couple of these and just started The Silent Patient. So good!

Blueberry Cucumber Summer Salad with Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette – Jessica always comes through with the best summer recipes! I need to eat more salad…

Have a great weekend!
