Friday Finds (and a Life Update!)

Okay so this life update is a couple of weeks old and most of you probably already know by now, but…

I have a puppy!!!! And his name is Ovi and he’s the best boy ever😊 He’s almost 10 weeks old now and he’s a black bi Aussiedoodle!! He was actually the runt of the litter too, so hopefully he’ll be in the 27-32 pound range. I just need to be able to travel with him so I can take him home for holidays!

He’s seriously the sweetest, so smart and so full of life. He’s a snuggle bug and I love him so much. If you’re obsessed with dogs (like me), you can follow him on Instagram because I’m a crazy pup mom and made him his own😂 It’s @ovithefloof

Other than that, I’ve just been trying to get ahead on work since we go to Hawaii TOMORROW! We’re somewhat irresponsible dog parents leaving our baby so soon, but we didn’t know we were going to have him obviously. Thank goodness for sweet friends who are going to watch him while we’re away!

And now, onto Friday Finds before I head back out of town because this summer is non freakin’ stop…

Peach Caprese Salad with Toasted Garlic Naan – Well this sounds lovely😍 Peach caprese is one of my favorites in the summer time!

Good Morning Coffee Lover’s Smoothie – So many of my favorite flavors in here! I have a smoothie for breakfast almost every single day and this is a good way to get that caffeine fix without the extra mug🙌🏻

Señorita Ab Routine – Maddie is one of my favorite YouTubers and I LOVE her workouts! She’s being doing workouts set to songs, which is fun since they go right with the beat of the music and only last a few minutes😅

A Budget You Can Actually Stick To – THIS. I work on my budgeting almost every couple of weeks (just because the nature of my work is all over the place) and I love the way this article breaks it down in a tangible way!

Sustainable Cookware That’s Less Than $100 – I just learned last year how bad our pots and pans can be for us AND the environment. I’m actually due for new ones so I think I’ll pick from this list!

Have a great weekend!!

Friday Finds

Happy Friday!!! This is actually a big one for me…

It’s my last Friday before I’m a dog mom and I’m SO EXCITED. It’s all I can think about🙈 And luckily I wrapped up my busiest work week for awhile just in time!

In other news, I wrapped up my 6 weeks at physical therapy for my back and truth be told, the pain isn’t better at all whatsoever. I’m going to have to see a spine specialist, so please pray for me that I don’t have to go to a chiropractor because nothing grosses me out more than cracking bones😂

And with that, I leave you with some easy reads!

Why Your Weight Is Irrelevant (Even if Influencers Lead You to Believe Otherwise) – SUCH an interesting read on the comparison trap when it comes to weight + self-worth as portrayed on Instagram. How can we not feel like our appearance is everything when we’re constantly bombarded with Instagram models?

Brown Sugar Lime Baked Salmon – Excuse me WHAT. This sounds incredible.

5 Beat-Based At-Home Workout Videos – SO here for these👏🏻 As a dancer, I truthfully don’t understand how people workout NOT to a beat!

Watermelon, Feta & Arugula Salad – I’m so addicted to watermelon it’s scary. Might as well pair it with some greens😂

How to Update Your Space Without Spending a Cent – I LOVE this. We actually just did a deep clean in our apartment and donated 9 bags of things we didn’t need anymore. Clearing the clutter does wonders!

Thanks for stopping by and have an amazing weekend!!

Friday Finds

Hellooooo Friday! Ugh, aren’t Summer Fridays the best?!

It’s not like I get actual Summer Fridays (y’know when you have a half day of work), but since I’m my own boss, I’ve decided that I’m going to do them once in awhile, anyway😏

I purposely made this week more low key than usual with fewer plans and workouts scheduled in. My time in NY was so hectic and since I wasn’t actually on vacation, I definitely didn’t get enough work done😅 Luckily I’m feeling nice and relaxed, and more importantly, back in the groove! Here’s what I’ve been reading…

Cassava Flatbread – What’s pictured up at the top of this post! I actually subbed garbanzo flour for the cassava flour and you guys I am BLOWN away. This bread has zero sugar in it yet somehow tastes slightly sweet? And has a ton of fiber/protein, too!

How to Make Your Own Oat Flour and Why It’s Healthier – Whaaaat this is so interesting! I actually make my own anyway, but mostly just because I thought it was cheaper😂

My Summer Manifesto: A Little Less Doing – An absolutely beautifully written piece and exactly how I plan to approach this summer, as well.

Vodka-Infused Pineapple – I don’t always drink alcohol, but when I do I prefer to have it with fruit…and eat it😍

The 20-Minute Salad I Make Every Tuesday – My mom used to make us a version of this all the time when we were little and I’d forgotten how easy/delicious it was!

12 Fun & Easy Recipes to Make With Your Kids This Summer – Is it weird if I make these even if I don’t have kids…

Hope you all have a great summer weekend!! Tell me your plans – we’re going to be FaceTiming with our (potential) puppy!!

Spring Favorites

Just popping in to share some of my recent favorites with you guys!

I know it’s been a hot minute since I shared a monthly favorites post, but I’m doing things a lil differently today and doing it in a video instead😊

I’ve been having so much fun shooting and editing videos, plus you can hear me describe the items a bit better this way, too. Let me know in the comments if you’ve been loving anything lately, and if you have any videos you’d like me to shoot!

Friday Finds

Not gonna lie, this week felt like pretty much the longest week ever.

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

It was a great one, don’t get me wrong, but MAN am I tired😂 There are two things I want to share with you before diving into this week’s Friday Finds (…is this the second week in a row for one? I think so…oops).

First off, I put up another YouTube video and my first one where I really share more about my business/what my life is like on a day to day basis now that I’m really doing my own thing blogging and business wise! You can find that here!

I was also on a podcast this week and in the episode we talks a loooot about my life before this year like my work experience, growing up as a dancer, moving out to LA, doing dance professionally, hand modeling, working 7 thousand jobs, attending b-school, etc. – just stuff I don’t always share on the blog or even Instagram! You can listen to that episode from the Let’s Thrive podcast with my friend Emily here.

And now, for just a few quick reads before we head into the weekend!

How to Help the Women in States With Extreme Abortion Bans – The most important thing either of us will read today.

Copycat Samoas – Listen I am ALL about a girl scout cookie, but I can absolutely not be trusted with a box of them. I love that these actually have good-for-you ingredients in them!

A Trick for Making Weekends Feel Longer – NOTED. Also, this is hands down one of my all time favorite blogs.

California Grilled Chicken Avocado and Mango Salad – So many of my favorite summer flavors in here😍

The Greatest Drink of the Year – Umm YES will absolutely be making one of these ASAP.

5 Ayurvedic Habits to Adopt This Summer – Easy, tangible, and pretty awesome honestly.

That’s all for today – we’ve got another busy one before the weekend! Happy Friday, y’all💕

Friday Finds

If I told you I forgot which day it was at least 5 times this week, I would not be lying😂

Friday Finds | Dancing for Donuts

I suppose that always happens after travel, though! This week has been super busy but also productive, and for those two things I’m grateful😊 It’s just been so gloomy here in LA and I’m ready for some sun! What’s the weather like where you live?

We do have some fun plans this weekend like going to a Dodgers game, plus I’m helping my friend Erica shoot fitness videos for her YouTube, so that should be awesome!! I’ve been so nostalgic for my dance days, so anything I can do to bring me back to that feeling is always nice.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve been reading this week!

Everything Parmesan Crisps – Yep, 100% making these and putting them on top of every salad forever.

5 Easy Ways to Help Yourself Focus – Can’t honestly name a day when I DON’T need these tips😅 I think the hardest part of my job now is keeping track of 4 thousand things and I need all the organizational/time management tips I can get.

No-Bake Keto Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars – Low key could care less about these being keto, but the ingredients are AWESOME and I’m always looking for healthier versions of sweet treats!

What I Eat to Stay Sharp & Energized During 12 Hour Days – I actually found this article to be more helpful in how she structures her day rather than what she eats specifically, but there are some great tips in here!

4-Ingredient Chocolate Collagen Stars – Okay this admittedly not a find, it’s just my Instagram post from yesterday, but this recipe is SO good and I swear you guys, these tastes like those fancy $5 low-sugar chocolate bars at the grocery store. They also take 2 seconds to make😊

30-Minute Cardio + Barre Toning Workout – My friend Aubre is actually the one teaching in this and I just took her class yesterday here in LA! She’s amazing and this is such a great workout to do at home!!

Productivity Tips That Will Make Your Life Better – from the QUEEN of productivity. Lauryn Evarts always has the best tips for hustling boss babes, and I love Dr. Mona Vand, too!

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have an amazing weekend!

Friday Finds

Hello and Happy Friday!! I am VERY happy the weekend is here😊

Friday Finds | Dancing for Donuts

I know I sort of had a short week because of Texas, but the truth about having your own business is that you don’t actually get to take days off… which means that for the days you SLACK off, you end up just having to catch up HARD afterwards😅

That being said, I know that being busy is a blessing, so I will stop complaining! Besides, I’m gearing up for a weekend of fun with friends and family, and I hope you are too, whether you’re celebrating Passover, Easter, or hey, just life in general!

Here’s what I’ve been reading this week…

18 Trader Joe’s Products Always in Our Freezers – Ugh, TJ’s for LIFE. I definitely haven’t tried some of these before so I know what I’ll be doing this afternoon…

Salted Citrus Bars – WHAT. EVEN. I actually used to not be a fan of citrus-y desserts but lately I’ve been all about lemon and orange flavored treats!

30 Minute Dance Workout with Aubre Winters – You guys Aubre is legit one of my favorite teachers in LA, PLUS she used to be a dancer. I’m low key freaking out that I can do one of her workouts at home now!

The Things You Should Invest in During Your 30’s – Maybe you’re in your 30’s (or almost like me!), maybe you’re not, but I still think advice like this is valuable! Plus Jacey is quite possibly the classiest woman alive, so that helps.

Here’s What You Need to Know About Arrowroot Powder – I admittedly bought a bag of this for gluten-free recipes but had no idea what it is…until now!😂

How to Make a Healthy Dressing to Put on All the Things – Well this sounds AMAZING.

That’s all for today – time to get back to the to-do list!! Have a great one❤️

Friday Finds ( + Pics from Joshua Tree/Palm Springs!)

Hey y’all and Happy Friday!

Joshua Tree + Palm Springs | Dancing for Donuts

I know I kind of disappeared this week, so I apologize for that! We went away last weekend to Palm Springs and Joshua Tree and I wanted to do a re-cap post, but I’ve kind of just been low energy. Anyone else have a cold that literally likes to stick around for weeks?! I mean, maybe it’s allergies…who knows.

Anyway! I wanted to share some of the photos from last weekend because it really was so beautiful! I was with my boyfriend and some of his family😊

If you ever need recs for Palm Springs, I’ve got a blog post here all about it! And now, back to regularly scheduled program. Here’s what I’ve been reading this week:

Cashew Shrimp and Mango Stir Fry – I really hate to admit this, but I’ve been in a bit of a cooking rut. Working from home, I end up being lazy and snacking a ton or eating the same thing every day. I want to make this dish ASAP though, hopefully it’ll help me remember that real meals are better than green smoothies and granola bowls all the time😅

The $9 Trader Joe’s Moisturizer That’s a Dupe for La Mer – PSA YOU’RE WELCOME. But actually, don’t thank me, thank Well + Good…

5 Cheap & Easy Meals that Start With A Bag of Meatballs – ‘Cause we’re all about the cheap and easy meals over here👏🏻👏🏻

37 Favorite Places to Eat & Drink in Los Angeles – I know most of you probably don’t live here, but this is such an epic list even for a visit!! I want to start putting more of my LA favorites together for you, too.

Honey Lemon Bars – I swear everything this woman creates is solid gold. I can’t wait to make these, they just look like spring in a dessert🍋

Hope you have a wonderful weekend – it’s going to be SO hot here in LA, I don’t know if I’m ready for it…but if you’re in colder weather, I hope the sun comes out for ya!

March Favorites

Ahh, another month has come and gone!

Dancing for Donuts | March Favorites

I know we skipped February favorites (what can I say, time got away from me), but this month was packed with even more awesome finds, especially after attending Natural Products Expo!

If you keep on scrolling, you’ll find some of my favorites in the healthy food category as well as green beauty, supplements, and a workout video I can’t stop doing. I also included a quick list at the bottom for some other stuff that I didn’t photograph/have possibly mentioned in the past, but have been using/eating on the daily in case you’re curious😊

Dancing for Donuts | March Favorites

Herban Cowboy Bloom Perfume – I posted about this stuff on Instagram and it might just be my favorite scent EVER. I got mine at Bristol Farms, but I know you can get it online, too! It’s been so fun trying out new non-toxic beauty and Herban Cowboy has some really great products. I also just love the packaging of this perfume – it’s pretty on my counter😍

CHOMPS Grass-Fed Beef & Turkey Jerky Sticks – So you know how I have a raging sweet tooth? Well, I’m trying to change that, just a little😅 I’ve been eating these CHOMPS jerky sticks that are about 100 calories and packed with protein. They’re soooo good, I always have one in my purse, too!

ModelFit 4 Minute No-Weight, Arm Toning Video – On days that I really don’t feel like getting a full workout in (which has been kind of often these days😳) I’ll do some quick abs and this no-weight arm video!! It’s actually the routine they do at ModelFit, one of my favorite studios, so it kind of makes me feel like I’m there. It’s easy to do anywhere and still gives you a burn!

Dancing for Donuts | March Favorites

Safe + Fair Birthday Cake Gluten-Free Granola – I’ll be honest with you, I’m kind of surprised I still have any of this left in my pantry right now because it is SO dang good. I’ve actually be obsessed with all the Safe + Fair products I’ve tried (their ingredients are super clean and everything is free of the major 8 allergens!), but the granola is my FAVE.

Georgia Grinders Maple Caramel Almond Butter – You know how I know I’ve learned self control? Because I didn’t polish off this jar in 3 days, that’s how. If I had to pick one nut butter to have forever, this would be it. It tastes like warm pancakes and heaven and love, and I can’t recommend anything more🙌🏻

Dancing for Donuts | March Favorites

WTHN Gut Check Herbs – If you live in NY, you may have heard of WTHN already – it’s an acupuncture and wellness boutique, and they just launched their own herb supplements! I’ve been taking the Gut Check ones every day since I’ve been eating more foods that might make me feel bloated (aka lotssss of cauliflower and chickpeas😅) and I truly think it’s been working.

Caraa Sport Backpack – You guys I got this bag a couple of weeks ago and now I won’t go anywhere without it. It’s definitely a splurge but you can tell it’s incredible quality and it even has a few different options for straps! The 12 year old in me will always turn it into a backpack, though…😂 They were kind enough to give me a discount code if you’re in the market for a new bag! It’s JORDAND10

Other things I’ve been loving:

Fabletics – Yes, I’m an ambassador with these guys, but I can say with 110% honesty that the clothes are SUCH good quality and super flattering, especially for the price!

Ancient Nutrition Keto Matcha Mix – I have this almost every single afternoon. It blends beautifully and has the perfect amount of sweetness!

Anatta Market Lavender Essential Oils – I’ve been diffusing this almost every single night and I LOVE it. This company also works with farmers from all over the world, which I find incredible! The lavender oil is from Tasmania.

Alright y’all, that is it for March!!! Cheers to a new month, a new season (spring is always so energizing!), and the weekend😊

Recipes I’ve Made Recently and Loved #2

Recipes I've Recently Made and Loved | Dancing for Donuts

You guys I think my favorite part of working from home has been having access to my kitchen! I feel very lucky, and I know not everyone is able to do this, but as someone who absolutely loves cooking, being able to make more yummy food in my day to day has been so much fun.

Since I’m not always creating my own recipes (honestly most of the time I’m more just throwing some things I love together in a bowl), I still want to share with you some of the foods I’ve been eating since they’ve pretty dang tasty and are along the lines of what this blog is all about: good, healthy eats on a budget!!

Also, those pancakes up there just look fancy, but they really were only 3 ingredients (minus the toppings!) – Birch Benders Pancake Mix with water and pitaya powder! I added my favorite Lavva yogurt on top, some banana and cacao nibs😍

Recipes I've Recently Made and Loved | Dancing for Donuts

Pumpkin Paleo Bread – This might actually be a new staple in my house. It’s not too sweet, so the topping can be anything you’d like, and it’s surprisingly moist (an adjective solely reserved for baked goods😂). Other paleo breads I’ve tried were good, but super expensive and honestly kind of dry, so this one was great! I subbed maple syrup for honey but I’m sure it’s tasty either way.

Recipes I've Recently Made and Loved | Dancing for Donuts

Vegan Black Bean Meatballs with Cali’Flour PastaI made Food By Maria’s Black Bean Meatballs this week at a Hello Wellness Event and they were SO good. We just left out the BBQ part of the original recipe, but I’ll definitely be making these again at home. It’s nice to have some plant-based protein options for dinner!

Recipes I've Recently Made and Loved | Dancing for Donuts

Cauliflower Crust Pizza With TJ’s Vegan Kale Pesto, Daiya Vegan Cheese & Spinach – This totally doesn’t count as a recipe, but I’ve been absolutely LOVING the TJ’s cauliflower crust…and apparently cauliflower in general since this is the 2nd cauli dish on here😂 Also I know I might be weird, but I much prefer a pizza with pesto over red sauce!

Recipes I've Recently Made and Loved | Dancing for Donuts

Protein Mug Cake – This recipe is originally from my friend Lindsey and I’ve made it a couple times in the last week! It’s a super easy and fairly healthy way to satisfy my sweet tooth. I basically take 1/4 cup of Birch Benders Paleo Pancake Mix, 1/2 scoop of protein powder (Tone It Up is my favorite right now!) and cashew milk/water to desired texture. I microwave it for 1 minute then add toppings like nut butter or chocolate chips!

Alright y’all, that’s all I’ve got! If you’d like to see more of my day-to-day eats, please feel free to follow me on Instagram! I usually post that stuff in stories on a more regular basis😊
