Let’s Catch Up… (and some of my goals for 2021)

It’s like I blinked and all of a sudden it was the middle of January…anyone else feel the same way?!

The first week of 2021 came in HOT and very feisty, and I honestly feel like I’m just now getting my bearings!

The storming of the Capitol last week brought a sense of overwhelm, helplessness and anger (I shared a few more of my thoughts on it in this post), but now that I’ve had time to process it, I’m definitely feeling more hopeful and excited for the inauguration on the 20th. This year, in general, does hold a lot of hope, and I’m trying to lean into that!

It’s been really nice to get back into somewhat of a routine, make some fun things in the kitchen (recipes coming soon!), spend time with Alex and Ovi, and be outside in the sunshine. I definitely missed it when I was back in NY over the holidays! We even found a new hike we absolutely love in Brentwood that we’ve been to twice in the past couple of weeks.

I’m also in the middle of a 2-week fitness challenge with The Ness and it’s been such great motivation. I’m basically doing 5 sculpting classes per week and they’re super fun, unique, and challenging.

Other than that, my social media consulting business is somehow kind of booming? I’m SO grateful, but I definitely need to get my life together so I can actually take on this incredible work without adding too much to my plate! And when I’m not trying to balance that + dancing for donuts, I’m pretty much just watching Love Island…haha

Overall though, it’s feeling like it’s going to be a year of more growth, learning and hopefully adventures, too! My word for 2021 is TRUST and I’ve already been tapping into that so much. Here are some of the other loose goals I’ve set for myself:

  • Read one book per month (I’m really hoping I can do more than that, but I didn’t want to set stressful/unrealistic expectations!)
  • Dance more! I was so good about this just before quarantine last year, getting back into class and regaining my confidence. I want to take some classes at home and even just freestyle in my room more often!
  • Make my Instagram fun again. I shared more about this in a post on there the other day, but basically, the platform has really been a source of anxiety for me in the past year. I miss when it was just my hobby & creative outlet, and I really want to get back to that place!! Likes and followers whatever, I just want to post what I love.
  • Share 2 blog posts per week (I’m not off to the best start) and 2 YouTube videos per month (they’re my favorite thing to make, even if no one watches them…haha)
  • Continue to prioritize my health with movement that’s enjoyable and food that’s nourishing for the body and soul and
  • Spend the same amount of time outdoors as I did in 2020 (the most I’ve ever spent!)
  • Stay present. If there’s anything my Virgo a$$ learned last year it’s that I can’t plan everything (although tbh I’ve kind of known that for awhile). Life happens, but all we can do is live in the moment and make the most of every minute!

I’m looking forward to being back on this blog more often (gotta go after that goal!) and excited to see what this year holds.

Did you set any goals, intentions or a word for 2021? I’d love to hear them!

Can relate to pretty much all of these deeply — been especially thinking about how to bring back the fun to instagram.

It’s something that’s been on my mind SO much and truth be told, since deciding to take the pressure off last week i’ve felt more free/better/excited about it than ever!!
