5 Easy Things I Do Every Morning for Better Health

Do you have a morning routine?

I wouldn’t say I really do, aside from making sure to let my dog out, check my phone and make my coffee, but there are a few things I love to do every single day that make me feel better both mentally and physically!

I like to preach that health is a lifestyle, it’s not all or nothing, a diet or cleanse, but there are always easy changes we can make to be at our best. I honestly look forward to most of these things and try to do them whether I’m traveling or at home! They give me energy, bring me joy and help get me organized (a feeling I thrive off of!). Some might even say they’re a bit of self-care😊

I start the day with things that inspire me. I always, always make coffee first thing and take time to read my favorite blogs, check out Pinterest, or watch my favorite YouTube channels. While I do love to hop on Instagram at some point, sometimes it can overwhelming and set my day off on a hectic note. The comparison trap is real🙈

I drink water. A lot of it. I can’t tell you how many articles I’ve read about people starting their day off with warm lemon water, but the one thing that gets me excited to start my day is coffee…so sue me💁🏻 But! What I’ll do is make my coffee and have that, but sip water on the side – at least large glasses before 9am! I’m always thirsty anyway (LA is *dry*), so it’s not like it’s hard, but I also think it just gets your body in gear for day.

I make a smoothie packed with the goods. You guys I swear by these – a smoothie is hands down the easiest way to get a load of nutrients that also taste like dessert. I try to keep the amount of fruit to 1/2 cup or less and pro tip: frozen bananas make smoothies extra creamy! I also like to add in spinach, a mix of almond mix and water, protein powder, and the Probiogen Smoothie Booster with probiotics and the equivalent of an entire multivitamin. It contains 20 vitamins and minerals plus probiotics for digestive health – which I think we could all use help with!

I take a probiotic. Lucky for me, the Probiogen Smoothie Booster already has probiotics in it, but if I don’t have a smoothie for some reason, or am traveling (which I have been a LOT), it’s much easier to just take capsules. I won’t travel anywhere without them and when I’m home, I just keep them right next to the coffee maker so I’m always reminded to take them!

Probiogen has two different kinds of probiotics that I LOVE: their Stress & Mood Balance Probiotic and Women’s Vitality Probiotic that both use Smart Spore Technology, which helps the probiotics survive 100x better (yes, they do die!). Right now, I’m mostly taking the Women’s Vitality since it also contains Cranberry and DDS-1 that aid urinary and bacterial health.

I plan out my day and prioritize deliverables. This is my last step before sitting down to really start the work day and it does wonders! I swear by a planner and written out list of to-do’s, and start with the ones that are due first. Some people like to use Google Calendar or different apps, but I love manually checking off what I’ve accomplished! Such a Virgo over here😂

And that pretty sums up my mornings! And if for some reason I forget to take my probiotics first thing, I just try to take them at some point in the day. I think one of the reasons I love Probiogen so much is because having that powder to put in my smoothies makes all of that nutrition so much easier to remember since it’s all in one! You can find their products on their website, as well as at retailers like GNC and Bed, Bath & Beyond.

What about you, do you take a probiotic?

Friday Finds

If I told you I forgot which day it was at least 5 times this week, I would not be lying😂

Friday Finds | Dancing for Donuts

I suppose that always happens after travel, though! This week has been super busy but also productive, and for those two things I’m grateful😊 It’s just been so gloomy here in LA and I’m ready for some sun! What’s the weather like where you live?

We do have some fun plans this weekend like going to a Dodgers game, plus I’m helping my friend Erica shoot fitness videos for her YouTube, so that should be awesome!! I’ve been so nostalgic for my dance days, so anything I can do to bring me back to that feeling is always nice.

Anyway, here’s what I’ve been reading this week!

Everything Parmesan Crisps – Yep, 100% making these and putting them on top of every salad forever.

5 Easy Ways to Help Yourself Focus – Can’t honestly name a day when I DON’T need these tips😅 I think the hardest part of my job now is keeping track of 4 thousand things and I need all the organizational/time management tips I can get.

No-Bake Keto Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars – Low key could care less about these being keto, but the ingredients are AWESOME and I’m always looking for healthier versions of sweet treats!

What I Eat to Stay Sharp & Energized During 12 Hour Days – I actually found this article to be more helpful in how she structures her day rather than what she eats specifically, but there are some great tips in here!

4-Ingredient Chocolate Collagen Stars – Okay this admittedly not a find, it’s just my Instagram post from yesterday, but this recipe is SO good and I swear you guys, these tastes like those fancy $5 low-sugar chocolate bars at the grocery store. They also take 2 seconds to make😊

30-Minute Cardio + Barre Toning Workout – My friend Aubre is actually the one teaching in this and I just took her class yesterday here in LA! She’s amazing and this is such a great workout to do at home!!

Productivity Tips That Will Make Your Life Better – from the QUEEN of productivity. Lauryn Evarts always has the best tips for hustling boss babes, and I love Dr. Mona Vand, too!

How I’m Taking Control of My Health As A Woman This Month

This post is sponsored by Nurx, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

As you already know from following along on here, women’s health (and health in general, of course!) is suuuuper important to me. I’m actually just going to go ahead and tell any of you fellas out there reading to maybe click away to something else, ‘cause this one’s for my ladies!

Something that’s been on my mind for months now as I prepared for entrepreneurship is health insurance. I’m not married, and I’m certainly not under 26 anymore, so being able to afford to take care of myself is somewhat daunting, but absolutely essential. Sure, there are some things we cannot control (helloooo genes), but the good news is that there are so many things we CAN control. Here are some of the simple, cost-effective ways I’m prioritizing my health this first month of 2019.

Having collagen every single day – I’ve been taking collagen for almost a year now, but I wasn’t diligent about taking it daily until a couple months ago. but I have been so much better about taking it every single day this month. I put it right by my coffee so that I remember to blend it in each morning! In case you’re not familiar with collagen, it can work wonders on the human body. I primarily take it for strong hair and nails, youthful looking skin, and gut health, but it can also help with joint pain as well as brain and heart health!

Eating more plant based – after reading a few articles about how women have a harder time digesting meat products than men, I’ve been making to eat more plant based wherever possible! That includes things as simple as swapping my meat proteins for fish, tofu or beans, and even used a plant-based protein powder in my smoothies instead of whey protein powder. *The collagen I mentioned above can either be animal based or plant-based – I try to take marine collagen whenever I can!

Taking the Nurx at-home HPV test – I know it’s not glamorous to talk about, but this month is Cervical Health Awareness Month. HPV is the most commonly transmitted STI and most men and women are infected with HPV at some point in their lives. As women, it is critical that we use the technology that is now available to us to check our health, because there are certain things like cervical cancer that men just don’t really have to worry about. If we catch them, or our risk of having them, early enough, we can help protect ourselves!

This is why when Nurx reached out to me, I kind of flipped out a little. Nurx is an at-home HPV test that you can do without scheduling an appointment at your gyno (idk about you but I am busy af these days and sometimes those places are booked months out!). It’s the same quality as a pap smear and it’s an affordable option to check your risk for cervical cancer. If you have insurance, Nurx is only $15, but even if you don’t, it’s just $69 (and one could argue the peace of mind that comes with these screenings is priceless!).

I also love how convenient this kit is for women who may not have access to traditional health care, whether they live far from a doctor’s office or just can’t afford the appointments. It’s pretty crazy too – there’s a stat that says nearly 25% of women without health insurance haven’t check their risk for cervical caner in the past 5 years. We have to change this! And I think a product like Nurx could even make a serious difference in third world countries or other areas where doctors aren’t as readily available to people.

Dancing for Donuts | How I'm Taking Control of My Health as a Woman this Month

To take the test at home, you just download the Nurx app or go to Nurx.com, answer a few questions and then you’ll receive the kit in the mail! You’ll swab yourself (the directions are super easy to follow and give all the detail you need!), then place everything in the pre-paid envelope which will then go right in the mail. Easy peasy!!

Tell me – how are you taking control of your health this month?!

DFD Babe Feature: Staness of Eat Like a Woman

It’s been WAY too long since our last DFD Babe Feature!!

Dancing for Donuts | DFD Babe Feature: Staness of Eat Like a Woman

I’m SO happy to be talking to Staness Jonekos of Eat Like a Woman on here today. I think you guys are really going to love this one – Staness is all about educating women on how their bodies are different then men’s in terms of health and diet. I actually had the pleasure of working with Staness a couple of years ago when she first launched her bars, shakes and cookies, and reconnecting with her has me so excited. You know how passionate I am about surrounding myself with smart, motivated women like herself!!

In this interview, we talk about how she got started with her Eat Like a Woman book that then became a plant-based nutrition line, why it’s so important that women understand how their needs are unique, and how female bodies are generally neglected from scientific research. You know I love every single person I interview for this series, but this one in particular is the perfect intersection of what I like to talk about on this blog (aka health and wellness!) + female entrepreneurship. Keep reading to learn more about Staness and her incredible company!

Tell us a little bit about Eat Like a Woman! What made you decide to write the original Eat Like a Woman book and then branch out into the food space?

During a TV show pitch session as one of the executive producers for Oprah Winfrey’s first TV network, Oxygen Media, she personally asked me how I was making a difference.  Health was always my passion and she knew there was something out there I should be doing. When Oprah speaks, you listen. I took a hiatus from television and wrote EAT LIKE A WOMAN after I discovered the FDA banned females from clinical research in 1977 until recently.

Women experience heart disease and stress differently than males, and burn carbs and fats differently, as well as metabolize nutrients at a slower rate.  This information inspired me to create a company that manufactures plant-based bars, cookies and shakes designed specially to support a women’s health.

I truly love that you’re educating women on how their bodies are different from men’s bodies! That’s not something discussed often. Can you give us a quick summary of what women should be paying attention to in terms of their unique health?

Women have very unique life stages (pregnancy/lactation, reproductive years, menopause and beyond) that require specific nutritional support.  Our Life Stage Shakes® honor these requirements, so we can achieve optimal health at each life stage. We all have a healthy weight, we are all different – focus on health, not size!  We are born with BILLIONS more fat cells than males. How we perceive fat in our society does not embrace health for a woman.

Of course, staying at your healthy weight is important – too much fat isn’t good either, but those curves are there for a reason. Carbs are not bad! In fact, a female’s neurotransmitter health benefits from a balance between protein and carbs.  High protein diets are not the best fit for females. You may drop some weight quickly, but one can get cranky and those pounds will return when the carbs do. The Mediterranean’s figured it out…lean proteins, lots of veggies, grains, olive oil, and some RED WINE!

IMG_3299

What’s your favorite part of owning & running Eat Like a Woman?

Discovering new science that included females so we can apply it to our daily life is one of my favorite Eat Like a Woman duties, and creating food products that harness this info so we can achieve optimal health as a woman! Every day I am spreading the word that differences matter, so the new science can help each of us. Medical text books still do not have this new research, so I am committed to sharing it with women so they can demand that future research include women.

And what’s your least favorite part?

There are a million details to launching a food business – operations, financing, legal,  managing three warehouses, three co-packers where we manufacture our bars, cookies and shakes, a law firm to protect our intellectual property and ensure we follow all of the FDA regulations, raising money so the company grows so we can met our costumers demands, and seeking out new distribution channels.  Until recently I personally handled all of these activities, now we have an amazing team that has joined the ELAW family!

Dancing for Donuts | DFD Babe Feature: Staness of Eat Like a Woman

If you had to pick one piece of advice to give to others pursuing their passions, what would it be?

Ask yourself “what do I do every day that I love?” For me, I love to KNOW things.  Researching and writing is like breathing…I have no choice. When I was 6 years old, I found my Mom’s nursing/medical text book and studied every word.  Local kids would come over when they were sick and ask me what was wrong with them—so I started diagnosing my friends. It made perfect sense to write books and launch a disruptive business that can change how we think about nutrition.

Ask yourself: What do YOU do for free daily, because you love it?  When you can answer that question you have found your purpose in life – how YOU will make a difference.  The exact question Oprah asked me years ago.

How do you prioritize time for yourself when you’re super busy with your business? Do you have any de-stressing techniques or self-care routines you can share?

I must confess, launching a start-up is super time consuming.  I need to work on making time for myself and finding balance. The answer – we must all make time for ourselves, me too. De-stressing and self-care is a work in progress for me.  That said, I think ALL women have the same struggle.

What are you excited for in the new year? Are you making any resolutions/goals?

We are officially launching Eat Like a Woman nationally next year. I can’t wait to get out there and share powerful information, and yummy plant-based snacks, that can help women achieve their optimal health. Women have a very different eating journey than men…from body image, to nourishing different life stages, to media pressure to look a certain way…it is time we embrace our differences.  We are ALL EQUAL, but our differences make each of us uniquely beautiful.

Alright y’all, thanks for reading!! Hope you have a fantastic weekend and if you’re in the northeast or anywhere that got snow yesterday/today, stay warm!

Friday Finds

Welcome back and helloooo Friday!

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

This week has been, UGH. Just so many ups and downs, yes some personally, but more so with the news. It’s hitting quite close to home this week after the shooting and now extremely serious forest fire in Thousand Oaks where my cousins live. The only good news I can think of is that a recored of 117 women were elected into office and the youngest one is from the town next to mine in New York, so that’s pretty cool! A silver lining to chaos, I suppose.

I just want to share some of my favorites from this week, in case you need to read something other than the news. I know I could use a break!

How to Make a Satisfying Salad Every Single Day – Wait, this is SO HELPFUL. I swear, sometimes I’m hungry an hour after I eat my lunch…

Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese and Prosciutto Strata – If I had a Friendsgiving to go to this year, I would 110% be making this!!

The Many Incredible Benefits of Echinacea – My parents used to take this when I was younger (maybe they still do? Hey mom & dad!) but maybe I need to start taking it, too! Do you guys?

The Health Benefits of Infrared Saunas – If only these weren’t so dang expensive!!! I’m obsessed with them.

5-Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Fudge Squares – I sure as heck don’t trust myself with a bag of chocolate chips in the house but for this recipe? I might just have to try.

Cranberry Apple Sangria – Well THIS sounds like a winner for the holidays😍

Sending you all my love and please, don’t forget to tell the people in your life how grateful you are for them. Life is short❤️

#AutumnReboot: 5 Healthy Habits I’m Forming This Fall

Hi and Happy Sunday!!

Dancing for Donuts | #AutumnReboot - Healthy Habits I'm Forming for Fall

Can I just tell you something? I literally meant to post this weeks ago, but time literally jus slipped away from me. THAT’S how quickly this month/season is going, what the heck!! But, now that there’s been some time between the day I decided to set these goals and now, I can tell you how they’ve actually been going. And spoiler alert: not well😅

So maybe it’s a good thing I’m actually finally posting this to go live, because it means I’m almost re-setting these goals and making myself accountable but telling all of you. I think I wanted to do this for autumn specifically because all of the crazy travel plans (and weddings!) from the late spring and summer are finally over. As someone who absolutely loves traveling, and admittedly does not like to be in LA for too long, you’d think I’d be sad about this…but I’m seriously SO happy. I’m looking forward to being in one place, one time zone, and getting back into a routine.

So here are 5 little goals I’m setting for myself this season as a re-commitment to my health and fitness!

Dancing for Donuts | #AutumnReboot - Healthy Habits I'm Forming for Fall

Read an actual, physical book for 15 minutes every single night before bed. – By now you probably know that I have sleeping issues…although I’ll be honest, it hasn’t taken me the hours it used to for me to fall asleep in about a month. Which is AWESOME. Regardless, I’d really like to keep it that way and as someone who works in social media both professionally and personally, I gotta get the F off my phone. The blue light isn’t great and it’s hard to shut my brain off. By reading a book, I find it easier to take my mind off the day and get sleepy. The only issue? Books get expensive😬 I need to make a library run soon…

Up the greens. – It’s no secret that I have a green smoothie every single day, but the general logic behind that one is that even if I don’t get many greens in the rest of the day, I know I’ve still had 1-2 cups with breakfast. BUT, that is no longer enough for me. I want to be having greens all👏🏼damn👏🏼day👏🏼. That means green drinks, greens with lunch and dinner, and hopefully one salad every single day. Wish me luck because I tend to slip up on weekends…😅 **p.s. I have been absolutely horrible about this since forming my goal in September. It’s time to step it up!!

Get my sweat on 5 days a week. – To some of you, this may sound like a lot and to others, it might not sound like enough. Here’s the deal, I try to make it to two 45-60 minutes workout classes a week ie. pilates, barre, yoga, etc. The other days I’ll either workout in our exercise room at the apartment, do free videos I find on YouTube for fine toning, or hike. Every single day I walk at lunch for at least 25 minutes (usually 40!), but I don’t consider that a workout because I’m literally sitting on my tush the rest of the day. If I can get in 5 solid workouts a week, that will be enough to soooort of lose the weight I gained this summer without going crazy. Plus, I got a lotta life to live and time is limited. I’d like to not spend it in a gym😊

More meal-prep. – Here’s the thing: making food for my lunches in advance is not only better for me because I control exactly what’s in them, but actually saves me money (which is equally important at this time in my life). I used to be soooo good about meal prepping when I lived alone and had a crazy a$$ schedule, just because I had no other option but to be organized about my food, but I’ve been slipping. If I can get back into this habit – and I don’t mean the crazy hours-long meal prep some others do, just some easy proteins, veggies and grains – then I can save myself time/calories/money throughout the week.

Make no more than 2 plans with others per weekend day. – Omg you guys I have been SO bad about this. Like absolutely terrible. I think because I was traveling for like two months in between crazy work things, I just felt out of touch with friends or something, and now I feel like I’m playing catch up. It’s bonkers. And of course I know friendships are insanely important and being a truly good friend is one of my main goals on a daily basis, but I’ve been burning out trying to run around Los Angeles and see everyone. This fall, and even winter, I neeeeeed to be better about this. I need more me-time to relax and re-set.

Dancing for Donuts | #AutumnReboot - Healthy Habits I'm Forming for Fall

So there ya have it! Are you guys setting any goals or intentions this season? Autumn is such a perfect time to re-set before the holiday season and new year, in my opinion!

Hope you had a great weekend😊

Friday Finds

Happy Friday, sweet friends!!

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

This Friday feels about 150% different than last Friday (when I’d gotten off a red-eye and was back in the office for the first time in about two and a half weeks). Luckily now I feel almost entirely back to my routine, and even though I’m going back to the east coast (yet again…for ANOTHER wedding) next week, I feel like the chaos has died down significantly!

While I’m impatiently awaiting fall, I’m loving this time of year in LA when it’s not sweltering, but still feels warm enough to dine outside. I have a fun weekend ahead of dog sitting, catching up with friends, and seeing Beyoncé. Yep, freakin’ QUEEN BEY. I might cry honestly. We’ll see…I’ll keep you guys posted😂

Anyway, here’s what I’ve been reading this week:

Fall Harvest Honey Crisp Apple & Kale Salad – Pretty much all my favorite things in a salad🙌🏼

Stability Ball Ab Workout – Something tells me that this would burnnnnn but I need to do it, anyway…

Are Pickles Actually Good For You or Not? – Wait this is so interesting. I actually ate a pickle last weekend for the first time in ages and was like WHY do I not eat these more often?!

Pasta With Butternut Squash Sauce, Sausage & Baby Spinach – Give me alllll the carbs once the weather gets cooler👏🏼👏🏼 Unfortunately it’s still about 85 degrees in LA though…

6 Outfits Rachel Green Would Definitely Wear Today – Just a fun one! If you know me in real life, you know I have all 10 seasons of Friends and used to watch it every single day for like a decade! Did you guys used to watch it?!

10 of the Coziest AirBnbs to Escape to This Fall – Wait I want to go to every single one😫

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

5 Things I Learned at 28

Well, today I turn 29 years old and y’know what? I kind of really love being almost 30, and I never ever thought I would say that.

Dancing for Donuts | 5 Things I Learned at 28

This year has been a freakin’ WHIRLWIND. I moved into a new apartment with my boyfriend, switched jobs (twice…😅), got into a minor but very expensive car accident, broke my elbow, and started getting serious with my blog/Instagram. It’s been a year of ups and downs, exciting and new things, realizing what I do and don’t want to do with my life for the rest of time, and learning about myself. I have some maaaajor goals to hit by the time I’m 30, so knowing I have one year to get there is giving me the biggest, most exciting push EVER. I’m so ready to work, to accomplish, to grow, to change, and to make moves.

That being said, this year has been an incredible stepping stone on my way there, and I wanted to share some of the most important things I learned this year. I know most of them are particular to me and my life, but maybe there a few tidbits in there that you can relate to, also😊

Dancing for Donuts | 5 Things I Learned at 28

1. If you’re unhappy, make a change. As I mentioned earlier, I did switch jobs twice this year. Am I proud of that? No, not really, but what I AM proud of is the fact that I was able to recognize that a certain situation wasn’t allowing me to thrive, and then take action to remedy that situation. I learned so much from where I’ve come from (and met some seriously incredible people!!! I always fall in love with my coworkers, honestly…), and I don’t think I would have found the role I’m now in without those changes happening at those moments.

2. Save for a very, very rainy day. So in a matter of 2 months, I had to spend about $2,000 between my car (this dude straight up ran a stop sign and blamed it on me…thanks bro!) and my injury. I admittedly cried when I saw all the bills, but it wasn’t so much because I didn’t have the money, just because there were soooo many other things I wanted to be doing with my $2,000, y’know? That being said, I DID have the money because I’m pretty good at saving (hence why I’m always on a budget over here), and I’m so freakin’ glad I did because if I didn’t have savings I’m not quite sure what I would’ve done.

3. But don’t stress out or freak out when things don’t go as planned. Okay you know that $2,000 I spent in less than 60 days? I actually got some of it back after the car insurance company was able to sue the other driver (s/o to State Farm!) and the hospital made a mistake. I knowwww I am the MOST lucky person ever, but I swear I never counted on getting anything back at all. If I had, I wouldn’t have spent all that time crying and stressing out over money. I think regardless, the lesson here is that sh*t happens and then it works itself out. Even if I hadn’t gotten any of that money back, what was done was done and once I spent the money it was gone and over with. We experience things, we learn, we move on.

4. Meet people. All the people. This one does seem a little unusual for me to be writing – I’m an introvert like 90% of the time, I didn’t go to a single networking event in business school, and I still have the same best friends I did in middle school. But, I can’t even begin to tell you how much joy I’ve gotten from meeting people this year. And don’t laugh, but most of them I found on Instagram…yep, the freakin’ internet. I’ve also been saying yes to as many events as possible, and facing my awkwardness head on, to introduce myself to people at all of them. You know why? Because as I get older I realize 1) how important it is to surround yourself with solid people that understand you, 2) that networking really IS insanely important for your career, and 3) meeting other women in the community you’re in (or men! whatever, honestly) is insanely fulfilling and inspiring. I love helping others and the help I personally have received is immense. I am so grateful.

5. If you don’t have the time or money to go far away for a vacation, take time to explore someplace nearby or even in your own city. I don’t know about you, but I find myself getting upset when I realize I don’t have the vacation days (or funds) to take an actual vacation and all I want is to escape LA. This year was also the first one in a couple where my boyfriend and I couldn’t just go all over the place on a whim (like we did in business school or when I worked remotely every Friday), so it felt slightly different. That being said, I think we’ve had some pretty fun days doing new things around LA, or even venturing out for quick day or overnight trips to Santa Barbara, San Diego (I’m there now!) or Topanga Canyon. Not everything has to be a big event to make it feel special, break up the week, or help re-set the soul.

Dancing for Donuts | 5 Things I Learned at 28

If this ^ doesn’t make you chuckle inside, then what will honestly?😂😂😂

Okay, that’s it for today😊 Thanks for stickin’ by me through another year and hope you have a fantastic weekend!

xo Jordan

Friday Finds

I literally can’t remember the last time I said this, but I this week kind of flew by!

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

My new job has been really busy, in the best way, and I’m still adjusting to slightly different hours, so maybe that’s part of it. To be honest though, I feel like this entire summer is flying by and while I probably should be mad about it, I’m already excited for fall..is that bad?😅

Okay okay, I’ll change the subject before people come for me – it’s time for another round of *drumroll please* Friday Finds! I’ve been reading a ton about this new moon/full moon situation and I’m a little worried about it (hence the reason it’s at the top of today’s list!) and while I have a ton of fun things planned for the weekend, I will not be making any big plans, or big purchases, and trying to keep things as low key as possible. I never thought I’d say this, but I feel like Mercury in Retrograde is REAL people. Let’s just keep calm and read on:

How to Channel the Energy of the Full Moon in Aquarius – I’m like, semi-excited and semi-nervous for this full moon business…it sounds intense. Granted, I don’t know all that much about the moons & how they affect us, but I’m learning and it’s actually really interesting!

10 Staples Kitchen Editors Always Keep in Their Freezers – This list is everything. I feel like I don’t keep my freezer stocked enough for emergency healthy meals when the rest of the groceries run out!

The $3 Superfood Smoothie for the Girl (or Boy) on a Budget – To be honest, the recipe for this doesn’t actually sound very appealing to me (where’s the flavor?), but I LOVE that they break down the cost of the superfoods. I think spirulina, chia seeds and flax seeds are SO worth the investment! I add some to my smoothies every single day.

8 Key Wellness Travel Tips and the Truth About Charcoal – I looove these, especially the last one about taking melatonin or something that helps you sleep. I don’t know about you, but I have so much trouble sleeping in a bed that’s not my own.

Manifestation is the New Meditation: The Secret to Living the Life You Want – GUYS. I am ABOUT this. I know it didn’t end up working out, but I swear to you I manifested my last job – my cousin came into town last November/December and together we manifested during the new moon. January rolled around and the job I literally asked for came. I don’t know, but I seriously think this sh*t works sometimes! There’s something about it…

Sorry this week was so wordy, guys!! Hope that you found something interesting in there😊

Have a great weekend!!

xo Jordan

Friday Finds.

Oooohhhh has it been a minute since I’ve posted one of these!!

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

Between traveling and the past month just absolutely FLYING by, my weekly roundup posts got away from me!! I’m happy to bring ’em back though, these are my favorite☺️

I’m actually wrapping up at my job today (and starting a new one next week!) so it’s kind of a big Friday the 13th for me!
