May Favorites + ANNOUNCEMENT!

Happy National Donut Day!!!!

Dancing for Donuts | Donut Merch!

You’re probably asking yourself why this isn’t a donut recipe post and I FEEL YOU. I planned on sharing a much different variety of content with you this week but alas, the broken elbow strikes again.๐Ÿ˜‘

Instead, I’m bringing you some veryyyyy exciting news…DONUT MERCH IS HERE! Yep, that’s right, I made friggin’ t-shirts and hats with donuts on them (mostly because I personally wanted some but then figured hey, maybe you would, too!)๐Ÿ˜

Dancing for Donuts | Donut Merch!

You can find DFD t’s, both regular and cropped, and a super cute dad hat over on my Etsy site! If there’s something else you’d like to see/buy, just let me know in the comments and I’ll see what I can do! This is definitely just the beginning, so more options (like hoodies & phone cases) will be coming soon, for sure.

And now that I’ve gotten that off my chest, let’s jump into May favorites!!!

FOOD:

Coconut Wraps: Not gonna lie, at first I was skeptical about these but they’re so yummy and an awesome alternative to wheat wraps or tortillas!! They don’t break like tortillas either (y’know when they rip and everything falls out? The worst. These don’t!) and I love putting a little avo + hummus in ’em with turkey or veggies. I bet they’d be amazing with nut butter and banana too for a sweet snack!

SmartSweets: GUYS. To say these are my newest obsession are an understatement. Alex keeps wanting some too and I’m having a hard time sharing…๐Ÿ˜… The whole bag is only 90 calories (and that are a lot in there!), they have fiber, and zero sugar alcohols which can give me a stomach ache. They come in fruity and sour and they’re so perfect for dessert. If you live in the US and want to order, you can get free shipping with my code ‘dancing.for.donuts’ !!

Blender Bombs: So you know how sometimes when you make smoothies you’ve got like 22 bags of seeds and protein powders and superfoods and it gets overwhelming? Blender Bombs solve that problem and it is AWESOME. They’ve got all kinds of goods in them like bee pollen, chia seeds and walnuts, but then they also make more specific flavored ones like Aloe + Collagen (what I have!) and Goji + Coconut + Acai!

Better Almond Butter: If you are an almond butter fanatic like me, you HAVE to try this stuff guys. The texture is out of control perfect and the flavor is even better. It’s made from sprouted almonds too (which are easier to digest!) so it’s better than you’re average store-bought stuff if ya know what I’m sayin’. Highly recommend!

Ellie’s Nut Milk Bag: You’ve seen me use this before (when I made my Lavender Vanilla Almond Milk!), but this bag has seriously changed the game for me. They send you a brochure with recipes and everything you need to get started making your own nut (r oat!) milk, as well as cold brew! I love having fresh nut milk on hand since I know exactly what’s in it, plus you get the nut pulp afterwards too, which is great for adding to smoothies or oats for extra protein! If you’re interested in making your own non-dairy milk at home, this (and a blender) are pretty much all you need!

FITNESS:

Beyond Yoga Leggings: Ok y’all, I have tried about 67 different brands of workout pants and I can officially say I have zero interest in wearing anything other than Beyond Yoga. They’re the softest, most comfortable and flattering pants I’ve ever worn and you can get some seriously incredible deals when they go on sale (that’s when I got them!). They have a zillion gorgeous colors and they’re perfect for everything from running to yoga to sittin’ on your couch watchin’ Netflix.

Outdoor Voices Crop Bra: So you need a good sports bra to go with your perfectly-fitting yoga pants and OV is the move. I can’t say enough positive things about this bra – it’s high-neck so the girls won’t fall out in down dog or bounce on the elliptical, thick enough to hide when you’re cold, but thin enough to breathe. I can promise you I will be ordering this in at least 2 more colors๐Ÿ˜…

Sudio Headphones: When I tell you that I’ve been looking for a good pair of gym headphones for years now, I am not exaggerating. Like does anyone have weird a$$ ears that like, nothing stays in or is that just me? Either way, these Sudio Tre headphones do not move, plus they send you different sized wings which is amaaazing!! I love hat they’re bluetooth powered too ’cause that means I can do things like lift weights without taking my music out! I’ve got a 15% off code for this one too guys! It’s DANCINGFORDONUTS (and I can promise you I don’t make commission on it, they were just nice enough to give me a code for y’all!

ECM Planner: This one is so much more than fitness related – it’s literally my favorite thing from this month for life in general. Aim + Glow sent me their Enthusiastic Change Maker planner after seeing some posts on Instagram that clearly show I’m at sort of an interesting crossroads in life, and this planner is just what I needed. It allows you to write down your current story, your desired story, some tools you have in your arsenal to help you get there, journal space AND a ton of room for you to write down your goals in various aspects of your life each week. I’ve never seen anything like t in my life and it makes me so happy/motivated!

5 Recipes to Make for National Donut Day!

Today is an extra special Friday, y’all.

It is National DONUT Day. Aka the day that honors my favorite thing ofย allย time. So, in it’s honor, I’m replacing my usual Friday Finds post with a roundup of my favorite homemade donut recipes!

Dancing for Donuts | Birthday Funfetti Donuts.

Birthday Funfetti Donutsย from Dancing for Donuts – As far as funfetti anything goes, these are surprisingly on the healthier side and my favorite homemade donuts of all time. They’re super moist and taste like they’re from a real bakery!

Dancing for Donuts | 5 Recipes to Make for National Donut Day!

Baked Lemon Poppyseed Donuts from Fit Mitten Kitchen – I never used to be a huge lemon poppyseed person, but recently I’ve gotten super into this flavor combo! The glaze is to die for, too.

Dancing for Donuts | 5 Recipes to Make for National Donut Day!

Banana Chocolate Chip Protein Donuts from Yuri Elkaim – I love that these are actually super clean and made with coconut flour. It’s hard to feel guilty at all about eating donuts when they’re packed with protein and low in sugar!

Dancing for Donuts | Cake for Breakfast

Baked Chocolate Donuts with Peanut Butter Frosting from Dancing for Donuts – An oldie but goodie, these donuts are so delicious, especially for being made with greek yogurt and very little oil! They’re super fudgy, and the peanut butter frosting makes them taste like a reese’s ๐Ÿ™‚

Dancing for Donuts | 5 Recipes to Make for National Donut Day!

Cinnamon Sugar Protein Donuts from Andrea’s Protein Cakery – Another healthier recipe, these donuts can totally be justified for breakfast or a post-workout snack. They don’t require too many ingredients and I love that they have cinnamon and nutmeg in them! They’d be delicious dipped in coffee…which gives me an idea for what I definitely need to be doing today!

How are you celebrating National Donut Day?! I say we continue our celebrations all weekend though because one day is not enough, let’s be real.

TGIF!

I’m back with some of my favorite links from around the web this week + a couple of new grocery store finds that have been satisfying my sweet tooth.

Oh! And Happy National Donut Day, of course! ๐Ÿ™‚

LA Guid to Donuts - Studio DIY

Because who doesn’t need a guide for the best donuts in LA? Everyday should really be donut day…

I’ll need to make at least 2 batches of this Apple Pie chia pudding from TSC this week.

Here’s a list of TJ’s best low-calorie snacks to buy before the work week starts! If you haven’t tried their Gone Bananas yet, you’re seriously missing out.

And a pre-cursor to the meal-prep post I’m putting together, an article to help you stay on track with just a little bit of planning.

To top off this majorly important national holiday, some donut DIY’s for your next crafting frenzy! I for sure need to make those coasters and that mirror for my apartment.

A couple of my favorite products from this week:

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

This frozen treat was a solid recommendation from Girl Meets Lifeย – the whole thing is only 150 calories, but it’s icy texture doesn’t necessarily make you want to go overboard anyway. Can’t wait to try the other Arctic Zero flavors!

Dancing for Donuts | Friday FindsHands down my favorite KIND bar flavor. At only 5 grams of sugar and packed with protein, this one is perfect for a midday pick-me-up!

Enjoy your weekends, everyone! ๐Ÿ™‚
