Friday Finds

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

Dancing for Donuts | Friday Finds

I just want to mention two quick things before we dive into today’s link roundup –

1) Yesterday I had the privilege of attending the 3% Conference in LA that spoke about inclusion and diversity in the workplace, and it was quite possibly the most empowering, inspiring day ever. Thank you to my agency, Campbell Ewald for sending me – I learned so much about how we can take action to get people of all walks of life represented in business, and how to truly get closer to equality not only in gender, but in race, sexuality, and more.

2) This second one actually makes sense following that first one, although it’s been in the works for quite awhile! I’m going to be starting a bi-weekly series on here called the DFD Babe Feature where I highlight women I know who are absolutely killing it not only with their businesses, but in life in general. I know so many of these women and I feel like it’s super important to share their amazingness with you all! So yeah, the first one will start next week and I am SO. Freakin’. Excited!!!

I know talking about these things sometimes can feel like a stretch from what this blog is all about – ‘healthy living‘ – but to me, these things are all connected. Health is not only physical, but mental, and inclusion/kindness/fairness can only lead to better mental health for us as a whole. We talked a lot yesterday about how this world is hurting, and all I can think about is how I want to help heal it, one person at a time.

Okay I’m done ranting and babbling now? Let’s get on with it, shall we?

10 Tiny Everyday Indulgences That Can Boost Your Mental Health – This list is everything. Lighting my candles after a long a$$ day, or buying a $4 bouquet of flowers every once in a while can make a huuuuge difference!!

The Only 10 Foods All Nutritionists Recommend – Wait yay I’m eating almost all of these on a daily basis!! I do need to start eating a bit more fish, though…I wish it were cheaper?

The Best Tips for Low-Sugar, Grain-Free Baking – This is amazing!!!! I want to go to the woman’s bakery so badly – I think it’s opening up soon in LA!

13 Cleaner Cocktails You Won’t Feel Guilty About Enjoying – I don’t love the word “guilt” when it comes to food/drinking, but I won’t lie, I definitely feel that way sometimes. I love that these cocktails have cleaner, simpler ingredients, regardless of their lower calorie count!

Graperfruit Donuts – NO. WORDS.

3 Simple Tips for Budgeting All Your Big Summer Expenses – Am I the only one who feels like life gets so much more expensive in the summer?! Aside from my shopping addiction, there are weddings, trips, parties, etc. – it’s overwhelming!!

The 12 Best Tips Ever From Nutritionist Kelly Leveque – I’ve listening to a zillion podcasts with this woman and I am soooo on board with her Fab Four smoothie! These tips are all amazing though, tbh.

Alrighty, that kind of felt like a long one, so if you stayed until the end, I thank you. Have a fantastic Friday and weekend, love you all!!!

Friday finds is my favorite! Also, as a teacher, I can seriously appreciate the sentiment of healing this world one person at a time. It scares me to think of the world my tiny students are growing up in, but then I see how naturally and effortlessly kind, open, and accepting they are and it gives me hope. We just need to nurture this innate affect that they’re born with rather than squashing it!
Doing the happy dance that almost all of those healthy foods are in our regular rotation! And I had no idea I needed a grapefruit donut in my life until now. And now, I don’t think I’ll be complete until I get one.
    Happy Friday!
